Stance

Lets start with the feet; footwork is vital to good shooting, and this starts with a good stance.  Feet should be no more than six to nine inches apart at the heels, weight evenly distributed.  If we imagine a clock face and we are facing 12 o’clock, a 5 past 2 foot position is a good start point.  The leading foot pointing towards the 1, the rear foot towards the 2.  From this well-balanced position a shooter may easily transfer weight as appropriate for the target.  Legs should be comfortably relaxed, never locked straight at the knees.
